The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is continuing to ensure that nuclear site licensees and other dutyholders carry out their activities safely during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. They believe that there has been no significant change to dutyholders’ safety measures since the start of the pandemic. If sites fail to apply the relevant Public Health England guidance, the ONR may take action. A limited number of ONR inspectors, as key workers, continue to travel to sites to conduct urgent and essential regulatory inspections, such as those related to the application of social distancing measures.
