Ofcom has published its report on News Consumption in the UK 2022/23, finding that young adults (age 16-24) are more likely to consume news online and via social media, as opposed to traditional outlets. Ofcom found that 83% of young adults consume their news online, compared to 68% of the general adult population. Additonally, 63% of young adults consume news through social media, with BBC One being the only traditional news outlet to feature in the top five amongst 16–24-year-olds.
