The Northern Ireland Office (NI Office) has announced that the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation) Bill has been introduced into Parliament. The Bill has been proposed to extend the executive formation period to 8 February 2024, with the effect of postponing the Secretary of State's duty to call an election in Northern Ireland under section 32(3) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.
