March 2017 highlights from the Lexis®PSL Family team. This month’s highlights include consideration of decisions regarding joint lives maintenance orders, refusal to grant decree nisi, civil partnerships, adverse inferences where a party refuses to provide material evidence, and adoption by a step-parent against the wishes of a biological parent. We look at cases concerning pension funds and transfer of values, claims for awards of damages and the Human Rights Act 1998, the threshold test and unproven allegations of criminal conduct against a parent, converting Xydhias agreements into orders, and divorce proceedings where neither party is resident in the UK. In addition to links to analysis of other key decisions (as well as those of interest from other practice areas), recently updated and new content in Lexis®PSL Family is also detailed.
