The Law Society has conducted the largest ever legal needs survey in England and Wales, emphasising the importance of seeking legal advice. It has found that six in ten adults (64%) have experienced a legal problem in the last four years, and that 53% faced a contentious problem. The survey also found that those who sought legal help benefitted from a fairer outcome, while those who didn’t expressed regret at their lack of assistance.
