The Insolvency Service has reported the sentencing of former professional footballer Stephen Oleksewycz, who had earlier pleaded guilty to acting as a director whilst an undischarged bankrupt, two counts of obtaining services dishonestly, and two counts of committing fraud during the course of winding up. The Insolvency Service has said that Oleksewycz was made bankrupt in 2016, but continued to act as a director of his company, An Exp With Ltd. The fraud offences related to an event in 2017, in advance of which Oleksewycz sent doctored bank documents to suppliers, falsely purporting to show them that payments had been made. However, after the event, one supplier did not receive any payment, while the other was paid £5,000 of nearly £80,000 that was owed. The suppliers then learned An Exp With Ltd had gone into liquidation. Oleksewycz was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to 27 months’ imprisonment.
