The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has found serious health and safety breaches at 20 hand car wash businesses in West Sussex and Kent as part of an inspection campaign. The HSE found failings at each site they visited in Mid Sussex and Crawley and found failings at half of the sites they visited in Kent. The HSE has said that the majority of issues related to electrical safety, but other issues included some businesses lacking compulsory employers' liability insurance and staff welfare facilities. The inspection campaign will now move to East Sussex and Surrey with inspections being carried out from 19 June 2023.
