Article summary

HM Courts & Tribunals Service has confirmed that eight additional Nightingale Courts will begin hearing cases to boost capacity and mitigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the justice system. The Lowry Theatre in Salford, Jury’s Inn Middlesbrough and the Hilton Hotel in York have been named as the first three sites that will begin hearing cases, while the remaining five sites will be announced shortly. The sites will provide 16 additional courtrooms and will hear non-custodial crime cases, civil, family and tribunals work.
