The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has released dispute resolution statistics for January 2023. The figures show that a total of 237 new cases were filed throughout the month of January, which represents an increase on previous 2022 and 2021 figures of 191 and 222 respectively. Of the 237 cases filed, 194 were closed during this one-month period whilst 3,069 remained open and ongoing at its close. The number of open cases for January has markedly declined in comparison to previous statistics where FINRA has recorded a total of 3,785 and 5,047 open cases at the end of January, 2022 and January, 2021 respectively.
