The Central Family Court has issued a notice regarding financial remedy cases set to take place between 4 May and 3 July 2020. In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, all such proceedings are to be held remotely unless personal attendance is unavoidable in the interests of fairness and justice. Urgent cases and those involving vulnerable persons will be prioritised. Due regard will also be paid to the Family Business Priorities guidance agreed to by the President of the Family Division and HM Courts and Tribunals Service. The notice provides details on the directions to take in respect of urgent applications and non-urgent hearings, alternative dispute resolution, electronic paper hearings and new applications, amongst other things.
