This week's edition of Environment weekly highlights includes: the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra)'s report on agricultural nutrient pollution and an announcement on measures to combat pollution and upgrade wastewater treatment works in areas affected by nutrient neutrality advice, the Environment Agency (EA)'s response to its consultation on proposed changes for water discharges and water quality permits and regulations to set the percentage reductions which will be applied to delinked payments in England for 2024. In addition this week, the UK Emissions Trading (ETS) Authority opened a consultation on expanding the ETS to further limit carbon emissions, the Council for the EU adopted new rules to track and reduce methane emissions as part of the Fit for 55 package, and the EU and Australia announced a new bilateral partnership on critical and strategic minerals between the two countries.
