MLex has reported that gas and electricity supplier, Baser Comercializadora De Referencia, has been fined €150,000 by the Spanish Data Protection Authority for changing supply-contract conditions without prior consent. The regulator found that the company failed to properly verify an identity of, and obtain proper consent from, the data subject for changing contract conditions which was requested by the third party who claimed to be acting on behalf of the data subject.
