Article 97 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Regulation (EU) 2016/679​ requires that by 25 May 2020 (and every four years thereafter), the European Commission shall submit a public evaluation and review of the GDPR to the European Parliament and to the Council. The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has published its contribution to this evaluation of the GDPR.
