The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has published its first annual report on intergovernmental relations (IGR). In the ‘Intergovernmental Relations Review Annual Report for 2021’, the DLUHC collates key information from the previous quarterly reports, demonstrating the level of co-operation between the UK government and the devolved administrations, service level agreements reached between the administrations, as well as a list of ministerial appearances before parliamentary select committees in the concern of IGR. It also includes case studies of where governments have collaborated over the past year. The report aims to enable and support Parliament and the public in the scrutiny of the IGR and working between all administrations to ensure they are working for all parts of the UK. IGR highlights from 2021 included the case studies of the UK-wide coronavirus (COVID-19) response, the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) delivery, city and growth deals, and the British Irish Council.
