The Department for Education (DfE) has announced that all state schools will have a defibrillator by the end of the 2022–2023 academic year. The announcement comes following the government’s commitment last year to assess how to ensure all state schools have a defibrillator on site and will build on requirements for schools to include first aid in the curriculum. A survey will soon be circulated to all state funded schools to ascertain how many more defibrillators are needed to achieve this goal.
