The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has commented on the draft Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Bill, praising its introduction, and welcoming its potential to increase protections for consumers. In particular the CTSI has praised the measures that address subscription traps and strengthen powers for Trading Standards and other enforcers to access information to aid their investigations, as well as plans to update and revise the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and form the Digital Markets Unit which will have the power to hold digital firms to account.
