The Council of the EU has approved its conclusions on enlargement and stabilisation, and associated processes. The Council has recommended that, subject to confirmation by the European Council and the steps specified in the European Commission’s recommendation from 12 October 2022 being taken, candidate status is granted to Bosnia and Herzegovina. A confirmation of the decision is expected by the December 2022 European Council. In addition, in the conclusions, the situation in each of the EU candidates and partners is assessed, guidelines on reform priorities are outlined and the Council’s commitment to the EU’s enlargement policy is reaffirmed.
