Commission seeks feedback on strategy for space traffic management

The European Commission has published an initiative on the development of a strategy to ensure the safe and sustainable use of space while preserving the EU space industry’s competitiveness. Lower costs of satellites brought about by the development of reusable launchers, small satellites and private investments have greatly increased the number of satellites in space. The increased risk of collision and amount of space debris has required the EU to urgently develop an approach to space traffic management. The call for evidence is open for feedback until 19 November 2021 (midnight Brussels time).
