Article summary

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced an update to its investigation into Teletext Holidays (Teletext) that launched after complaints that Teletext was not issuing refunds for holidays cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic within the legally required time limit of 14 days. The company that operates Teletext, Truly Holdings, failed to provide undertakings to address CMA concerns. In a letter before claim sent on 30 April 2021, the CMA informed Teletext that if the outstanding refunds are not paid ‘without unnecessary delay’, it will instigate legal proceedings.
