Home Office announces development of deepfake detection framework
The Home Office has announced plans to develop a world-first deepfake detection evaluation framework designed to establish consistent standards for assessing all types of deepfake detection tools and technologies used to identify harmful artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with Microsoft, other leading technology firms, academics and experts, and forms part of the government’s Plan for Change commitment to protect communities from evolving online and offline threats.
