The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has updated its 'Handbook of rules and guidance' webpage announcing the forthcoming beta launch of a redesigned Handbook website, as part of its five-year strategy to become a smarter regulator. The new website will retain the existing structure and content but is intended to improve usability by making it easier to navigate, understand how rules interconnect, and compare different versions of text to identify changes over time. During the beta phase, both the current and new Handbook websites will be available to ensure functionality, and supporting resources such as how-to guides and FAQs will be provided. The FCA expects to fully roll out the new Handbook website later in 2025, with updates to rules and guidance continuing as normal throughout the transition.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has updated its webpage on 'Cash-based money laundering,' detailing its efforts to mitigate money laundering through cash deposits, including those at the Post Office, and its expectations for firms' financial crime systems and controls. The FCA states that banks have made significant progress in implementing revised controls designed to reduce the risk of money laundering via the Post Office. Firms are expected to keep their controls under review to ensure they are proportionate to the risk and suitable for their customer base, this includes effective communication with customers so that legitimate customers, particularly businesses, understand where they can deposit and withdraw the cash they need. The FCA plans a proactive multi-firm review in 2025/26 to assess financial crime risks from cash-based money laundering.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has updated its webpage to reflect feedback received on the discussion paper ‘DP23/1: Finance for Positive Sustainable Change’ that was published in February 2023. The FCA says the responses received were generally positive about the importance of sustainability matters and the themes outlined in DP23/1. However since publishing DP23/1, the FCA notes that it has introduced rules related to some of the themes, including the Consumer Duty, Sustainable Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and labelling rules, and the Anti-Greenwashing Rule and is therefore not currently considering introducing new rules on the themes discussed in DP23/1. Instead the FCA says it will continue to promote the themes discussed in DP23/1 through other initiatives, both domestically and internationally.
