The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched a £1m campaign to inform motor finance customers that they can access a proposed industry-wide compensation scheme directly, without needing intermediaries such as claims management companies (CMCs) or law firms. The campaign, which includes radio and online advertising as well as influencer partnerships, is backed by research indicating that while 79% of customers recognise they may be entitled to compensation, 41% are unaware that bypassing a CMC or law firm could save them up to 30% of any awarded amount.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published an update on a modification to the Conduct of Business Sourcebook Transitional Provisions (COBS TP). The modification, which is to COBS TP 2.38BR, enables continued compliance with COBS 19.11 where firms are unable to connect to the MaPS (Money and Pensions Service) pensions dashboards digital architecture for all their relevant pension scheme members’ data by the ‘connect by’ dates in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) connection guidance.
