The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has updated its temporary permissions regime (TPR) webpage to note that it ended on 30 December 2023. The FCA notes that there are arrangements that remain in place to enable some EEA firms to wind down their UK business in an orderly manner within the financial services contracts regime. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a final notice objecting to the proposed acquisition of Olampicaran Limited, a small money remittance firm. The ‘Proposed Controller’ Mr Ahmed had failed to demonstrate due skill, care, diligence, and compliance with relevant standards in his past dealings and lacked relevant knowledge, skills, and experience to direct the activities of Olampicaran. In breach of section 191D(1) and section 191F(1) of the Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA),  Mr. Ahmed had also failed to notify and seek FCA approval for the acquisition.

The FCA has announced that victims of a £1.5m crypto investment fraud will recover lost funds after the regulator obtained confiscation orders against Raymondip Bedi and Patrick Mavanga. At a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on 28 September 2026, Bedi was ordered to pay £603,404.28 and Mavanga £247,997.99.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has offered firms limited temporary flexibility to comply with the Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) rules. This flexibility applies in exceptional circumstances where firms have submitted a completed application for approval of amended disclosures in line with ESG 5.3.2R of the ESG sourcebook for a UK authorised investment fund by 5pm on 1 October 2024 and are currently using terms such as ‘sustainable’, ‘sustainability’ or ‘impact’ in the name of that fund, intending either to use a label or change the name of the fund. The deadline for compliance is 5pm on 2 April 2025.
