Article summary
The World Health Organization (WHO) has opened a consultation on the subject of its draft policy brief, which endeavours to guide national regulatory authorities in using international harmonised standards to trace pharmaceuticals and vaccines through their supply chains. The policy brief is part of a concerted effort to help regulatory authorities minimise the risks associated with substandard and falsified medical products, as well as shortages and expired products. WHO especially welcomes comment from supply chain stakeholders, which include manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, national and international procurement entities.
