The Welsh Government has opened a consultation on the draft Valuation for Rating (Wales) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021. The draft sets out measures preventing further appeals being lodged as Material Change of Circumstances related to coronavirus (COVID-19). These appeals are said to lead to taxpayer support going to businesses which have been able to operate normally throughout the pandemic and to businesses which have benefited from relief provided by the Welsh Government. The consultation is asking for technical views on the drafting of the legislation and for any other comments. The deadline is 27 September 2021.
