The Welsh Government has published a written statement on its plans to reduce speed limits in 30 miles per hour (mph) areas to 20mph. The Deputy Minister for Climate Change, Lee Waters, has agreed to grant funding of £1,086,565 for the 20mph first phase implementation to provide the eight participating authorities with continued input into the toolkit guidance. It is also expected to help them undertake consultations, design and implement schemes, trial design features, buy monitoring equipment and collect data for monitoring.
