Vodafone Group Plc and CK Hutchison Group Telecom Holdings Limited (CKHGT) have announced that they have entered into binding agreements in relation to their UK telecommunication businesses, Vodafone UK and Three UK, to merge and create one of Europe’s leading 5G networks. Vodafone will own 51% of the combined business (MergeCo) and CKHGT will own 49%. The Chief Executive of the Vodafone Group, Margherita Della Valle, described the merger as ‘great for customers, great for the country and great for competition’.
