Sherrifs Principal has confirmed that ‘all simple procedure claims submitted either via Civil Online, email or paper will be registered provided they were lodged before the receiving court moved into phase 2 of its recovery programme, after 15 June’ 2020. Applications for registration lodged throughout phase 2 will be returned. The clarification comes following enquiries by the Law Society. Additionally, new simple procedure claims should be submitted through Civil Online from 30 July 2020, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
