Scotland's Office of the Public Guardian has published an update on Powers of Attorney (PoAs) to be processed the week commencing 11 August 2020. The update states that the Office of the Public Guardian aims to process PoAs within 30 days of receiving them. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic the Office of the Public Guardian (Scotland) is focusing this week on critical work, including electronic (EPOAR) submissions received on 28 January 2020 and postal submissions received around 23 January 2020. There is an expedited registration service available for any PoAs that are urgent. Examples of urgent PoAs include where the granter has lost capacity and urgent decisions need to be made and where the granter is at risk of financial harm.
