The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has commissioned independent research to ensure a European infrastructure will be in place to efficiently monitor coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines once they are authorised. EMA is co-operating with Utrecht University, co-ordinator of the EU Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance Research Network, to conduct the research into data sources and methods that can be used.
