The Planning Inspectorate has published its performance update for February 2021. The report reveals that the number of casework volumes for decisions and numbers of virtual events held has reduced slightly. The statistics reveal that it has made 'approximately 17,400 appeal decisions in the last 12 months, an average of almost 1,500 per month'. The Planning Inspectorate confirmed that the measures that it put in place during the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown has allowed it to progress cases by continuing to hold hearings, inquiries and examinations virtually. In addition, it has also continued to make unaccompanied site visits where the Inspectors are satisfied they can keep themselves and customers safe.
