ORR discusses threat of cyber-attacks on safety of rail industry

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has said that cyber-attacks pose an increasing threat to the safety of the rail industry, and it will continue to work with the Department for Transport (DfT) and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to ensure railways are safe. The ORR has said that it has worked with other regulators and railway industry experts to conduct a risk assessment and risk ranking exercise on software-based systems, which will enable it to target its resources to examine the most likely areas of risk.
