Ofcom has published a statement that sets out its decisions on the regulation of wholesale markets that underpins landline and mobile calls in the UK. Ofcom consulted on the proposals for the regulation in August 2020 and in the statement identifies the decisions for the regulation of wholesale markets for call services from April 2021 to March 2026. As a result of the findings, Ofcom has set new significant market power (SMP) conditions, which will take effect from 1 April 2021.
