The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) has published a summary of responses on its consultation concerning the social housing green paper and the call for evidence on regulation of social housing. The responses showed overall support for the current economic regulatory system, although there was recognition that the regulatory regime may need to adapt to new types of provider. Respondents also highlighted a need for greater consumer regulation, as well as concerns about the proposals for key performance indicators and/or league tables. There were 106 responses in total, of which 54 came from housing associations and local authorities.
