The House of Lords is set to debate the state of local government in England and discuss reinvigoration of local democracy on 15 June 2023. The debate will be put forward by former Newcastle City Councillor and board member of One North East, Lord Shipley. Other members speaking in the debate will include Baroness Eaton, Baroness Hayman of Ullock, Lord Parekh and Baroness Scott of Needham Market. Lord Evans of Rainow will respond on behalf of the government.
