The Housing Ombudsman has announced that it has found severe maladministration for Stafford and Rural homes for the way it dealt with a resident’s complaint concerning repair delays and a bedbug infestation. The Housing Ombudsman has said that the housing provider, which is now named the Housing Plus Group, allowed unacceptable delays in its response to the complaint at all stages and did not apologise or explain itself to the resident. The resident had complained of a leaking roof, mould and a bedbug infestation over many years. The Ombudsman has ordered the landlord to pay compensation of £1,000 and to execute the repairs and bedbug fumigation.
