HM Treasury has reported that the Cabinet Secretary, Simon Case, has been asked by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi Kwarteng, to launch the recruitment process for a new Treasury Permanent Secretary, who will succeed Tom Scholar as he is leaving the role after six years. Until a new Permanent Secretary is found, Beth Russell and Cat Little will lead the department as Acting Permanent Secretaries.
