The European Medicines Agency has jointly chaired the second global regulatory meeting with the Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency to discuss the progress made in the development of coronavirus (COVID-19) treatments. Participants from more than 25 countries attended the meeting, including experts from the World Health Organization and the European Commission. The availability of coronavirus treatments and the need for large clinical trials in order to gain conclusive evidence on the treatments that work were discussed at the meeting.
