Chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee (EFRA), Neil Parish has responded to the Chancellor’s commitments to double the funding for flood defences in his 2020 budget. In his statement Parish commented 'I’m glad more money has been invested in flooding… but this is just the first step.’ He also advised that the EFRA would be holding a separate inquiry into examining whether the government’s plans for flood management are adequate in protecting homes and businesses from future flood damage.
