The Welsh Government has announced a £90m funding through the Fuel Support Scheme 2022–2023 to support households struggling with their energy bills. The eligibility criteria was recently extended to cover vulnerable households, meaning about 200,000 more households are now eligible and could claim a one-off £200 payment to be used for their fuel bills from their local authority. The scheme will open on the 26 of September 2022 and the first payments are expected to be made in October 2022.
