Article summary

The European Commission has opened a consultation on the impact of Council Regulation (EEC) No 95/93 (the Slot Regulation), which sets out EU rules for allocating airport landing and take-off slots appropriately. The consultation aims to gather information to be used in policies and/or amendments to ensure that airport capacity is used more efficiently, the allocation system is crisis-resilient and that other relevant policy priorities are considered like decarbonisation or integration between different transportation systems. The consultation is open until 21 November 2022 (midnight Brussels time) and a factual summary report will published within eight weeks of the closing date.
