The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) has released a 2022 survey of members’ sustainability goals and activities, with the full results due to be published shortly. The data highlights that companies are continuing to adopt climate change policies and strategies in relation to their value chains, reduce their energy consumption and seek renewable energy sources, as well as disclosing CO2 performance. All the respondents reported long term targets for greenhouse gas emissions, with 60% elaborating on short term targets, and although the EFPIA welcomed that the pharmaceutical industry is a low impact sector for greenhouse gas emissions, there is more to be done.
