Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has joined a call to mobilise US$12.5bn to support Africa’s transition to greener economies and climate adaptation, in particular through the Africa-owned and Africa-led Africa Adaptation Acceleration Programme (AAAP). The Director-General referred to the WTO's 2022 World Trade Report that recommends trade policies to support both adaptation to and mitigation of climate change.
