The Department for Transport (DfT) has published the response to its April 2024 consultation on a sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) revenue certainty mechanism, which sought views on revenue certainty options to support the UK’s SAF industry. In its response, the DfT confirmed the progression of a guaranteed strike price mechanism. It also announced that the first set of signed revenue certainty mechanism contracts will be with UK SAF projects utilising non-Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) technology and feedstocks. In addition, the DfT confirmed that a government-backed entity will serve as the counterparty to the revenue certainty mechanism.
