The Department for Transport (DfT) has published its response to the consultation on smart charging. In the response, the DfT proposed that it will put in place secondary legislation in autumn 2021 under the Automated and Electric Vehicle Act 2018 to mandate that private chargepoints sold in Great Britain must be smart and meet minimum device-level requirements.
