The Planning Inspectorate has announced that the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has granted consent for the development of the West Burton C Power Station. The West Burton C gas fired generating station will be located within the wider 'West Burton Power station site, approximately 3.5km to the south of Gainsborough, with a generating capacity of up to 299MW'. The application was made by EDF Energy (Thermal Generation) Ltd to the Planning Inspectorate on 30 April 2019, accepted for examination on 23 May 2019 and a recommendation was made to the Secretary of State on 21 July 2020.
