South Oxfordshire District Council has reported that Hackney carriage taxi driver, Sharafat Anayat, has been disqualified from driving for three months and issued a fine of nearly £3,000 for offering illegal rides at the Henley Regatta in August 2021. The District Judge found Anayat guilty of offering rides outside of the district that his vehicle was registered in, driving without the correct insurance, failure to wear his council issued driver’s badge and obstructing council officers in their duties.
