Article summary
Citizens Advice has found that over seven million (or 39%) disabled people faced delivery problems during the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown period. If including all people in the ‘shielding’ category, 51% of people faced delivery problems, in comparison with only 27% of non-disabled people that experienced delivery problems. Problems include parcels being left in inaccessible locations, delivery drivers not waiting long enough at the door or goods not being delivered at all. Therefore, Citizens Advice is urging companies to sign a pledge to make deliveries more accessible by publishing accessibility information and allowing disabled people to specify their accessibility needs.
