The Welsh Minister for Health and Social Services, Vaughan Gething, has released two written statements on the ‘Coronavirus Control Plan for Wales’ and on investment to improve coronavirus (COVID-19) testing performance. The Coronavirus Control Plan for Wales sets out how risks will be managed in preparation for autumn and winter, describing different stages of a potential spread of coronavirus and also sets out how the Welsh Government will respond in these circumstances. In the other statement, the Minister announced an investment of nearly £32m to improve the speed with which tests can be processed. This funding will pay for extra staff and equipment and create six new ‘Hot Labs’ which will be able to provide test results in under four hours.
