The North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) has announced that a pub landlord that breached the coronavirus (COVID-19) regulations eight times has been served a prohibition notice under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020, SI 2020/350, reg 8(2). The landlord of The Boot Inn was also served with a fixed penalty after three drinkers, who were also handed fines, were discovered hiding in the cellar during one visit. The NWLDC confirmed that a breach of the prohibition order would amount to a criminal offence.
